Meet Fluence Compute Providers: Kabat

Meet Fluence Compute Providers: Kabat

In September, we publicly launched FLT Staking, taking a significant step toward building a cost-effective, enterprise-grade compute platform with global accessibility. As we continue to scale the network, we're steadily expanding our pool of compute providers and improving server availability. In this article series, we will introduce the top-tier compute providers with whom we have  partnered. These partners provide our customers with premier DePIN compute resources at prices up to 80% lower than traditional cloud providers.

Kabat is the leading European provider of hardware solutions for decentralized platforms. Kabat offers one of the most energy-efficient data processing facilities in Central and Eastern Europe, powered by 100% renewable energy.

Since the inception of Filecoin, they have been actively building storage infrastructure, and are now excited to extend their expertise by partnering with Fluence, starting from the testnet phase. Kabat’s core strength lies in delivering high-performance, cost-effective servers housed in Tier 4 data centers across Germany, Poland, and Estonia, ensuring optimal efficiency and reliability in an environmentally friendly and sustainable way. We talked to Kabat’s founder, Łukasz Kabaciński, to learn more about their service and approach.

Why did you choose to join the cloudless movement & Fluence?

Łukasz Kabaciński: We are confident that only decentralized platforms supported by top-tier professional providers can offer superior service at significantly lower costs to end customers. Few projects are as dedicated as Fluence in ensuring an exceptional customer experience. The highly professional team, both on the software and business side, gives us complete confidence that Fluence is the ideal partner for us to deliver compute power.

What are the strategic and business advantages that working with Fluence brings to your company? What do you value about Fluence and what makes our protocol unique?

LK: It is uncommon for many crypto projects to launch a product that end users are willing to pay for right from the start. However, Fluence stands out with its strong business fundamentals. Building a robust network on these solid foundations will ensure success for Fluence, its suppliers, and, ultimately, the end users. It’s not that we believe in it, we are simply sure about it.

What was your infrastructure setup before joining Fluence?

LK: We initially served as a storage provider for Filecoin and, for the past year, also supported Impossible Cloud, playing a key role in helping them establish their foundational infrastructure. Currently, with 98% of our hardware dedicated to storage servers, we are now ready to significantly expand our investment into the compute side of our operations.

Describe what your infrastructure, location and operations look like now.

LK: We are in one of the most energy-efficient data processing facilities in CEE. We ensure the lowest power consumption (PUE 1.2) and water losses (WUE) - for customers it is a guarantee of lower costs and a reduction of their carbon footprint. Sustainability is part of our DNA.

We’re powered by 100% renewable energy. It’s the only data center in the EU with the highest level of security confirmed by two independent bodies: the ANSI/TIA-942 Rated 4 certification and the EN 50600 Class 4 standard for all server chambers.

How do you see the DePIN space and your role in it now? How about in 5 years?

LK: I believe that exponential growth is achievable by offering high-quality products at significantly lower prices, positioning us to challenge major companies like Amazon or Google. I’m pleased that the narrative has shifted away from simply utilizing spare capacity from personal computers to contribute to the network. To truly compete with established brands, decentralization must be executed with 100% professionalism. Our vision is to meet the rapidly increasing global demand driven by the growth of the DePIN space.

Finally, what is your advice for any company out there considering joining Fluence?

LK: You can be assured of full support from the Fluence team. They are a fantastic group of professionals, making them a pleasure to work with. This is a challenging business with immense potential for success, so there’s no need to spend time considering other compute projects.
