FLT Stake Race: The Results

FLT Stake Race: The Results

The first lap of the FLT Stake Race has now finished, marking an exciting milestone in Fluence’s journey towards staking.

Throughout the first Lap, you engaged in a fierce competition, eager to win the chance to stake FLT tokens. You solved tasks, created content and spread the word about Fluence, while learning and exploring cloudless computing concepts together. This first round not only highlighted the competitive spirit of our community, but also demonstrated the immense potential of the Fluence ecosystem.

Now that the first Lap has concluded, it's time to reflect on the journey and celebrate the top performers. In this blog post, we’ll summarize the outcomes of the first Lap, highlight the winners, and share what’s next.

Stake Race Explained

The FLT Stake Race was designed to offer early participants a unique opportunity to join the Fluence network as one of its pioneering stakers, helping to build the largest, most efficient, and widely distributed computing network in the world. Staking allows participants to lock up their digital assets, securing the network and earning rewards in return. With FLT staking, Fluence elevates this model to new heights. For a deeper dive into FLT staking, including its mechanics and logic, check out this post.

To foster a sense of community and identify our most committed members, the FLT Stake Race introduced a points system and leaderboard to encourage friendly competition. The top 500 participants have now been selected.

Stake Race Winners

We want to thank over 16,000 of you who joined the race and completed the various quests we and our partners prepared. Your efforts—whether solving quizzes, referring friends, creating content, or spreading the word about Fluence—have been instrumental in raising awareness for our project. Now, the moment you've all been waiting for: the grand leaderboard reveal and the final results!

The top 500 will be awarded an exclusive staking access NFT. Each NFT will grant its owner unique opportunities within the Fluence ecosystem, including whitelist access and exclusive privileges in the early phases of staking.

The top 100 participants will all receive FLT prizes. And we’d like to extend a big congratulations to our top 10:

The full leaderboard can be seen here: https://race.fluence.network/

Big congrats to all the winners!

No Cheating Allowed

You might be wondering why the leaderboard has shifted a few times or why your name, once visible, is no longer there. We made these changes to ensure fairness in the competition, giving everyone a genuine chance to win a weekly prize.

The weekly prize distribution between the top 20 gainers was rotated, in order to give everyone - including new participants - a chance to win. This approach ensured a level playing field, unlike strictly rewarding those in the top 20, which might have benefited only a few.

By adding a bonus for holding over 50k FLT, we aimed to recognize and reward our most loyal and committed community members.

Moreover, to maintain the integrity of the race, we took steps to eliminate any attempts at cheating and either deducted points or disqualified participants who didn’t meet the eligibility criteria.

When it comes to the final leaderboard, we took the time to analyze all the results to make sure they’re fair to genuine participants. We took into account various factors including referrals, FLT balance tasks and multi- or sybil accounts. For a referral to be considered valid, participants must have earned more than 1000 points. Self-referrals and multiple accounts have been disqualified. In the FLT Balance task, we deducted points for users who have completed tasks but sold FLT immediately or used the same FLT across multiple accounts.

Please note that if you attempted to use the same FLT across multiple accounts, some of your accounts may have been disqualified. If you had multiple accounts, we kept your main profile with the highest points but disqualified the others. The same applies to those who purchased tokens and sold them immediately.

Quest Verification Cutoff

Due to the amount of manual checking work required, we had to stop quest submission verification at the end of the race to be able to count all scores properly and timely. Therefore, some racers might have encountered their quests to be stuck in the pending review phase. Unfortunately, that means those unverified quests were not counted towards the final score. In retrospect, we understand that this decision was suboptimal and will communicate handling of late submissions better in Lap 2.

Prize Distribution

All prizes will be distributed via Hedgey Finance. You will be able to claim them on the Fluence chain. The token prizes come with a 3 month vesting period. We will be in touch with more information about prize distribution with each and every winner individually.

We sincerely thank our partners — Filecoin, Spheron, Dbunker, Ceramic, Huddle01, Streamr, and Superboard—for their invaluable collaboration in creating quests for the stake race participants. Your support has allowed us to reach new communities and welcome even more participants into our journey.
