Community Update Noº4

Community Update Noº4

October was an energizing month for Fluence as we expanded our compute capacity and accelerated our presence in the DePIN ecosystem. With strong community momentum, we pushed forward on several promising initiatives. Here's what we achieved this month:

  • With over 2.2 million $FLT tokens staked and new providers getting ready for onboarding, we're continuously expanding our decentralized compute network, ensuring lower costs and greener technology. Find out more about FLT Staking here.
  • We’re thrilled to announce that we have officially surpassed the 200k FLT staked in the delegation pool. If you stake on Parasail, Parasail takes care of the mechanics of entering into Capacity Commitments, and with restaking, when the period expires. Using Parasail, you also have the ability to withdraw your stake earlier. Delegate your FLT tokens via Parasail here and visit the guide for Fluence stakers.
  • New Compute Units have been activated on the Fluence Network. Kabat has expanded its capacity by adding 252 Compute Units (CUs), bringing its total to an impressive 814 CUs. Half of these units are reserved exclusively for Parasail Network stakers, while the remainder became available to $FLT stakers supporting Compute Providers. To keep up to date with new Capacity Commitments available for staking, follow our Community Updates channel on Telegram and the #staking-updates announcements on Discord. Start staking here.
  • Get ready for DePIN Day Bangkok, one of the biggest and most carefully curated DePIN-focused events in the web3 and crypto space, happening on November 15th during Devcon week. With an exciting lineup of speakers, expanded networking opportunities, and essential discussions, DePIN Day will explore the latest trends, challenges, and innovations in the decentralized infrastructure space. This event will bring together top thought leaders from across the industry. Livestream will be available on our YouTube channel.
  • "Messari's 'State of DePIN 2023" report featured Fluence as a leading force in decentralized compute - a powerful validation as one of 250+ compute-focused projects within the broader 650-project DePIN landscape. As market demand grows for decentralized infrastructure solutions, our platform empowers developers to move beyond the limitations of centralized cloud providers. Find out more here.
  • We’ve opened a new community channel on Telegram where  you can be among the first to learn about new developments at Fluence - including new Capacity Commitments added for FLT stakers.

Platform News

  • Fluence partnered with top-tier Compute Providers who equip our customers with premier DePIN compute resources at prices up to 80% lower than traditional cloud providers. We’ve onboarded Kabat, a leading provider of decentralized hardware in Europe. With data centers located in Germany, Poland, and Estonia, Kabat stands out for its dedication to sustainability—running some of the most energy-efficient facilities powered entirely by renewable energy. Find out more about our collaboration with Kabat in this blog interview.
  • We also welcomed Nebula Block as a partner in expanding our decentralized compute capacity. This collaboration boosts the power and scalability of our cloudless platform, pushing beyond traditional cloud limits. Find out more in this blog interview.
  • Got questions about staking FLT? You’re not alone. We’ve gathered the most asked questions from our community about staking, rewards, lock-up periods, and more. Get answers here

Community Deep Dives & AMAs

  • Catch the highlight of the Staking Recap AMA featuring Fluence founders Evgeny Ponomarev and Tom Trowbridge here. The founders discussed the purpose and mechanics of staking FLT, emphasizing how staking supports the open internet vision by enhancing the security and decentralization of the Fluence network. They explained Fluence's unique staking model compared to traditional cloud services, detailing how delegating stakes to compute providers works and how stakers select providers. The founders also covered the USD-based rewards system, distribution timing, NFT requirements, and upcoming milestones, which provide incentives and structure for the decentralized network’s growth.
  • We have a lot more AMAs with exciting projects and industry leaders to come - stay tuned.

DePINed Podcast New Releases

Throughout September we released several new DePINed podcast episodes.

  • Ep. 25, “Scalable Decentralized Environmental Network”. Fluence co-founder Tom Trowbridge hosted Luca Franchi, the co-founder and CEO of Ambient, discussing how DePIN replaces traditional telecom roles with crowdsourced networks incentivized by crypto-economics.
  • Ep. 26, “Decentralized Telecom Network for Internet and 5G”. Deborah Simpier, co-founder of Althea joined Tom Trowbridge to explore how DePIN replaces traditional telecom roles with decentralized, crypto-incentivized networks.
  • Ep. 27, “Decentralized Network for Streaming Data”. Tom Trowbridge and Omar Ramadan co-founder BlockCast sat to discuss DePIN revolutionizes CDN roles with decentralized networks and how BlockCast's use of multicast to scale services and deliver high-resolution content.
  • Ep. 28, “Decentralized Network for AI-Driven Camera Data”. Tom Trowbridge and Alireza Ghods, co-founder of NATIX, discuss the future OF decentralized camera infrastructure and its broader impact. They dove deep into NATIX's vision of transforming smartphones into a global camera network powered by AI, and discuss how this could reshape urban development and public spaces.
