Welcome to the latest edition of our monthly community update!

We're thrilled to keep you informed about the exciting progress we've made together. This past month, we saw remarkable passion and dedication from participants in the FLT Stake Race, where competitors vied for a share of over 1 million FLT in prizes and the prestigious opportunity to become one of the first stakers in the Fluence network. Your enthusiasm and commitment continue to inspire us.

Behind the scenes, our team has been hard at work preparing for the highly anticipated staking launch. This significant milestone brings us closer to our mission of making cost-effective, enterprise-grade CPU resources accessible to companies worldwide. We’re on the brink of something truly transformative, and we’re grateful to have you on this journey with us.

Community Highlights

  • The Stake Race Lap 1 has concluded with over 16,000 of you participating, and we finally announced the lucky winners. Find out more in this blog post, and, if curious - take a look at the Week 3, Week 4 and Week 5 leaderboard updates. 
  • Thanks to our partners: Filecoin, Spheron, Dbunker, Ceramic, Huddle01, Streamr, and Superboard for their invaluable collaboration in creating quests for the stake race participants.
  • We appreciate all your creative contributions - memes, threads and comments. Stay tuned for news on Lap 2 coming soon.

Platform & Governance News

  • On August 28th, the Cloudless Labs Development & Funding proposal was closed and executed. Find out more here. 
  • A proposal for the retro- and proactive rewards for compute capacity providers was submitted and voted upon. Find out more here. 
  • All Fluence community members contributing to the forum discussions can help shape the direction of Fluence - stay engaged! 

Community Engagement & Events 

  • On September 4th our team was thrilled to host DePIN Day Seoul. We kicked off the Korea Blockchain Week  with Fluence co-founder Evgeny Ponomarev speaking at FILSeoul24, where he gave a talk about DePIN, decentralized computing, and staking on Fluence.
  • We’ve partnered with Parasail Network, the first (re)staking layer for DePIN, and have an exciting event planned in Singapore on September 17th. This will be an information packed gathering where you can network and learn more about DePIN & how it will enable mass adoption. Register here for DePIN Mass Adoption. 
  • DePIN Day Singapore will take place on September 20th, alongside the Token 2049 conference - register here, and stay tuned for various talks and presentations by the Fluence team during this exciting blockchain week!
  • Explore with our co-founder Tom Trowbridge as he was the guest speaker at the SheFi community educational event ShePIN, as he introduced Fluence and discussed DePIN.
  • Here is the recap of DePIN Day Brussels which took place alongside ETH CC this summer. It was a time full of insightful discussions on opportunities, research, and developments in the DePIN space.

Community Deep Dives & AMAs

  • HTX DAO Deep Dive on DePIN and AI: HTX DAO hosted a deep dive session focusing on DePIN and AI. The event featured Evgeny Ponomarev, co-founder of Fluence. You can catch the recording to learn more about the topics discussed here. 
  • Filecoin IPC Twitter Space AMA: Fluence was featured in a Twitter space AMA hosted by Filecoin's IPC. The session covered the future of cloudless computing and provided insights into Fluence's FLT Stake Race. The AMA offered a platform to explore how Fluence is innovating in decentralized technology and cloudless computing.
  • AltCryptoGems AMA: Fluence participated in an AMA hosted by AltCryptoGems, where they explained the workings of the Fluence network and provided details about the ongoing stake race. This was another great opportunity for the community to get involved and learn about Fluence's projects. You can listen to the discussion here.

Fluence in the News

  • BeInCrypto featured Fluence in the context of the growing importance of DePINs, stablecoins, and real-world assets (RWAs) in driving crypto adoption, noting how it contributes to making crypto more accessible and practical for everyday use by integrating these elements effectively.
  • Tom Trowbridge appeared on  the Crypto Hipster podcast, where he discussed Fluence’s unique role in bridging gaps in the crypto ecosystem and driving broader adoption. The conversation also touched on the team's vision and the project's potential impact on the future of decentralized finance (DeFi).

Technology & Ecosystem Updates 

  • Messari released a DePIN sector update. We are happy to be part of the ecosystem and contribute to its growth by giving the stage to the best projects and founders in the space. 
  • AI is transforming our world at an unprecedented pace, bringing both opportunities and challenges. As AI models continue to evolve, one issue becomes clear: when LLMs are controlled by centralized entities, manipulation and bias are inevitable. Fluence believes in a different approach: open-source, decentralized AI. Find out more.
